Çukurova Pastry and Barista Social Entrepreneurship Academy

Supported by the Çukurova Development Agency and implemented by the Erdemli Municipality, the Pastry and Barista Social Entrepreneurship Academy was established as a center that provides both vocational skills and income-generating opportunities for disadvantaged women and youth living in the district.

Within the project, participants have started receiving training in coffee preparation techniques and professional pastry making through the newly established Barista and Pastry workshops. Thanks to the café set up within the center, participants can both practice their skills and generate income by selling the products they make.

The project is carried out in partnership with Mersin University, Erdemli Social Service Center, and Erdemli Public Education Center. The center’s sustainability is ensured by a consortium led by the municipality’s R&D Department, while financial sustainability is supported through activities such as café operations and workshop rentals.
