Local Development: Horizon 2040 Workshop
Strategic Training from SEECO to Development Agencies: The Future of Local Development is Shaped by Social Entrepreneurship
On May 13–14, 2025, the SEECO Project participated in a special capacity-building program for Development Agencies, coordinated by the General Directorate of Development Agencies (KAGM), with the “Local Development Initiative: Horizon 2040 Workshop” held in Ankara.
The workshop was designed to reimagine the future of local development and to ensure the active participation of vulnerable groups — particularly women and youth — through the lens of social entrepreneurship.
During this intensive training program, agency secretaries-general engaged in developing strategies for mobilizing social capital, creating community-based development models, and formulating innovative policy components aligned with a 2040 vision.
Over the two-day program, group sessions focused on experience sharing, current state analysis, vision building, and impact-oriented planning. Central themes included scaling social innovation at the local level and creating inclusive and sustainable solutions for vulnerable populations.
Through this workshop, SEECO aims to strengthen the administrative capacity of Development Agencies from a social impact perspective and to support visionary leaders who will drive the transformation of local development.
